Recycle your cell phones through PTK

PTK is working with East End Evergreens in a cell phone recycling effort. You can bring your old cell phones to school for recycling this week! Contact the PTK President at jamango89@yahoo.com for more info.

Go really green --come plant trees this Wednesday!

Thanks to the efforts of Ken Ettlinger, Paul Anderson, Lenny van Vliet and Plant Operations, 25 blight resistant chestnut saplings will be planted on campus during common hour this Wednesday (12/17)! Meet down in the greenhouse if you're interested in helping, and dress appropriately!

Save the Environment Scholarship

The Campus Environment Committee is offering $150 scholarship to students in the Spring 2009. Eligible students must:
  • Be a Full or Part Time Eastern Campus student
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.2
  • Be willing to participate on the Eastern Campus Environment Committee

Green bags are now 2 for $5, thanks to a generous donation by Ted Koukounas! They're reusable, recyclable and they make great gifts! Please contact Phoebe Smith in S219 if you're interested in getting your hands on some green bags.

Is the College going green?

If you haven't already, please provide input regarding the College's Strategic Plan by logging into My SCCC and clicking on the Human Resources tab and refer to Academics. We can show our support for the College's plans to invest $25, 000 toward the development of a Sustainability Task Force.
